The East Northport Jewish Center Sisterhood is an active arm of the synagogue, made up of a dynamic, vibrant group of women of all ages, who together work toward providing rich and varied programs of educational, cultural and social value for the congregation. Through these efforts, we reinforce our bond with Israel and Jews worldwide.
We are a part of the BQLI Region of Women's League for Conservative Judaism, dedicated to perpetuating Masorti Judaic ideals through practice in our homes, synagogue and the community.
Sisterhood News, December 2018
Sisterhood made a donation to the Anti-Defamation League in memory of those who were killed or hurt in the Pittsburgh incident. Our prayers go out to the entire Tree of Life community.
Sisterhood provided two gift shopping opportunities in November. We hosted both the Gift Shop and the Book Fair. The Religious School enjoyed shopping for Chanukah gifts. Thank you to Linda Pollack and Halley Garten, who ran the Gift Shop, and to Rochelle Gull and Barri Feur, who ran the Book Fair. Please keep in mind that you may shop at the Gift Shop year-round. Contact Linda or Halley as needed.
Our first General Meeting will be on December 11. The Gift Swap is open to all the ladies. The fun begins at 8:00 pm. Bring a wrapped gift worth $20 and be prepared to laugh and have fun. It would also be appreciated if you would bring a child's gift for our toy collection for underprivileged children.
Sisterhood is going to Gurwin Nursing Home on December 12 at 10:30 am to polish nails for the Gurwin Nail Salon. The residents love this and you will too. Please come–it's a real mitvah to participate in this event. Contact Jennifer McHugh to reply. Happy Chanukah!
– Anita Slade, Sisterhood President

We are always looking for enthusiastic and creative women to help us build our program and support our synagogue. The Sisterhood of the ENJC is very fortunate to have women with vision and knowledge as its members, and we are very proud of the vital role we play in the everyday life of the synagogue. Membership dues (new members are free and seniors and second year members enjoy a reduced rate) are used to support all of the work we do throughout the year.
